There are a few ingredients in the "land of freeze dried" that DONT work.  Chocolate is one of them.  However the CARAMEL in these "caramel chocolate buttons" does freeze dry, it does expand and it becomes delicously crunchy.  The choocate and the hard candy shell remain unaffcted by the process.


So the only question left is; do you pronounce it car-A-mel or car-mel???
